Interlude 70 - Thank You, Air Traffic Control Tower Guys!

One of the cool things I get to do is visit Air Traffic Control Towers and chat with controllers. I did this yesterday before getting out of town. I wanted to see what the busiest travel day was like through the eyes of controllers at a top 25 busiest airport. There is a language that pilots and controllers speak that is cool and very Top Gun. I understood little. The radars were filled with blips and the few minutes that I got to spend with them were quite the spectacle. I wanted to get an over the shoulder shot but they would not approve it. Instead they allowed me to shoot the field from the catwalk just below. That is a bunch of Blackhawks below.
I am having fun with Presh on our mini vacation. Those guys are on station today along with some brave men and women overseas and others on patrol. To the diner mavens and the 1SGTs and fire crews. Thank you. Stay safe. And coffee is on me anytime you are free. Happy Thanksgiving.

I wish I could do that sometime, but alas, I don’t have as awesome a job as ye do.
