Moments of Zen…
Every now and then my life is filled with these interesting little moments.
This afternoon I found myself alone on a yet to be opened freeway.
The Loop 202 Santan Freeway through Town is scheduled to be open in a couple of weeks. Before it opens to cars we are going to open it to the public to play on. A party is being scheduled in a couple of weeks with fireworks, and the Governor cutting a ribbon, and little kids riding their bikes, and bouncy inflatable things.
I was called to the freeway for a site visit and planning meeting. Layouts and responsibilities were discussed and dispatched. A rough site plan emerged.
I decide to tour the length of the event area (about four miles). Most of the construction work is done. The rubberized asphalt is nice to drive on. Not sure what it will be like to ride a bike on it in June in the desert. Some minor electrical needs remain and some surface streets and interchanges are still dirt paths. But the contractors are great and everything will be ready.
I shoot the event area taking note of some areas of concern (bridges and other areas you are aware of when kids and bicycles are involved). It is nearing two in the afternoon, the laborers are on their way home and like I said, I find myself alone on a yet to be opened freeway. In a pretty sporty car. With the top down and with pretty good assurance that the speed cams are not yet operational.
Every now and then my life is filled with these interesting little moments.

Late night Peets.
Yes, I know. But it is Major D in the cup.
Watching Game 5. I have watched more basketball this season than I ever have. Like, almost three whole games. Go Suns! Suns, right?

Coffee Cup 3 for today.
I got my new brick and keyboard. This keyboard feels yummy. Spent the entire day in quality improvement training. Tomorrow is more of the same, but with pizza.
It hit triple digits today for the first time this summer. The evil heat is next. I am sure there are technologies and practices to keep me alive this summer (my first in the desert), right? I need to find native Phoenicians and do what they do I guess. This worries me.
I really like this new keyboard.

The adventure continues…
It is time. I have been spinning this project in my head for the last ten years. I think everything is in place. I ran over the last modification with Presh over dinner. She likes it. It is time.
Well, maybe it will be time this weekend. I think, I can make time.
I have to get a new power brick and keyboard tomorrow from the Apple Store. The brick you know. The keyboard well that was a few days ago. It had to do with coffee. Presh was not pleased.
Well, anyway, it is time. This is gonna be cool.

If it is not one thing…
I was at Ironforge when the screen goes blank, five minutes of DG and the smell hits me. Burning. At least it is the brick and not the motherboard. Just another one of those things…
