Hi Lloyd,
This cup represents an interlude during a Saturday bicycle ride. Outside, the temperature is 38 degrees, give or take a degree or two. Inside the coffeehouse (Greensboro’s Cheesecakes by Alex), our group is sitting around a table speculating about the origins of green bean casserole, comparing cross-state rides, and laughing at Cliff, who touched a hot part of a light fixture to prove to himself that it was, indeed, hot.
The coffee itself is Counter Culture, caffeinated and free of cream or sweeteners. Just the way I like it.

Guest Cup 57 is from Ian Joyce, marketing communication consultant and writer. Hi Ian, I am also one of those who cannot not touch and I have the scars and burn marks to prove it. May I share a secret? I have never had a green bean casserole, nor know anyone who has had one. I think. I remember a tuna fish casserole from my youth. But, not a green bean one, nor any sort of hot dish - though I did spend time in Minnesota. Thank you for the cup and for starting up an interesting new quest.

[...] There have been 57 Guest Cups in this year of coffee. I wonder if we can get to 100? [...]
