Interlude 40 - Lloyd does not drink.
I do not drink. The longer statement is that I go months without a drink. I do not drink at parties or sporting events. I do not drink at restaurants. When given a choice between coffee and a drink, well you can guess how that ends.

Most of my friends know that I do not drink, but only one complains about it. Each time he sees me with a beer. Guinness, please.

Coffee Cups 912, 913, and 914
I am beginning to panic.

I have not secured Presh’s Christmas present, yet. 912.

She is dropping hints about rings or diamond earrings. 913.

I was thinking an iPod Nano. The cheap one. 914.

Coffee Cups 910 and 911
Want to know how my evening went?

I brewed a pot of Fair Trade Certified Organic Shade Grown Ethiopian coffee (proud of me, Siel). 910.

And I watched four plus hours of the bi-weekly town council meeting on cable access. No, really. 911.

Coffee Cups 907, 908, and 909
This was a busy day. Trying to get organized and focussed (yes, I know).

Deacon does not know who Doc Searls is and was unimpressed by this. 907.

I am out of soda, and have been for a couple of days. This does not bode well. 908.

This was a very busy day. 909.

Guest Cup 57 - Ian Joyce
Ian writes:
Hi Lloyd,
This cup represents an interlude during a Saturday bicycle ride. Outside, the temperature is 38 degrees, give or take a degree or two. Inside the coffeehouse (Greensboro’s Cheesecakes by Alex), our group is sitting around a table speculating about the origins of green bean casserole, comparing cross-state rides, and laughing at Cliff, who touched a hot part of a light fixture to prove to himself that it was, indeed, hot.
The coffee itself is Counter Culture, caffeinated and free of cream or sweeteners. Just the way I like it.
Ian

Guest Cup 57 is from Ian Joyce, marketing communication consultant and writer. Hi Ian, I am also one of those who cannot not touch and I have the scars and burn marks to prove it. May I share a secret? I have never had a green bean casserole, nor know anyone who has had one. I think. I remember a tuna fish casserole from my youth. But, not a green bean one, nor any sort of hot dish - though I did spend time in Minnesota. Thank you for the cup and for starting up an interesting new quest.
