Coffee Cup 821
I can no longer function without broadband. My home phone and professional phone are both VOIP systems (one through Cox and the other Skype). Most of how I keep in touch with people is now by iChatAV or Skype.

I used to just meet them at coffeehouses. Now I see them in tiny windows on my AlBook. 821.

Coffee Cups 819 and 820
I am at a loss to explain my love of diners and diner coffee. I love sitting in a diner late at night watching the cook sling hash.

There is a kind of beauty in that Hopperesque scene. A loneliness of desperate and decaying people. 819.

The cook this time was a woman and for the forty minutes that it took to eat my pancakes and grilled potatoes it was just about the most compelling thing I have ever seen. The scary, uhm, girls a few chairs down the counter flirted as I left a two dollar tip. 820.

Coffee Cup 818
Remember Windows 98? I had a flashback as I tried to rebuild a Celeron 566 running Win98. Star Office 5.2 was corrupted and the computer was sick with adware.

It was a nice trip down memory lane. This is why you never throw away disks. 818.

Coffee Cups 816 and 817
Went to see a guy about a thing.

Probably not going to be a thing. 816.

But, you had to go anyway. 817.

Coffee Cup 815
This is a latte and not a pressed cup of Fair Trade coffee. Why? Because this is not a corporate owned store but a franchise and the franchise owner apparently does not give a rat’s ass about Fair Trade coffee.

I think we need to challenge Starbucks corporate to educate its franchisees and encourage them to participate in this important endeavor. 815.
