Lloyd –
I’ve really been enjoying your blog, and I’m honored that you asked me to submit a guest cup.
When I first moved out to the Pacific Northwest, I lived in the tiny town of North Bend, Washington. North Bend is about 45 minutes east of Seattle, and besides the outlet mall that people stop at on their way to and from skiing at Snoqualmie Pass, the town’s claim to fame is that it’s the real-life location for the fictional town of Twin Peaks. (The show, if you’ll recall, was directed and written by David Lynch. It ran for two seasons, from 1990 to 1991.)
I bought this mug at a gift shop just half a block from the RR diner, where in the TV series, special agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) would stop for cherry pie and a “damn good cup of coffee.” It has become my daily mug, and is shown here with our sugar and coffee containers and stainless steel Starbucks coffee pot.
By the way, my wife would like me to point out that she prefers to experience her coffee in a glass mug, far superior, in her opinion, to my porcelain mug. Frankly, at that hour of the morning, I can’t tell the difference.
Good luck with the move to Phoenix, and keep in touch.
Sincerely,
Stuart Maxwell

Guest Cup 45 is from my new friend Stuart Maxwell of www.stumax.com and The Louverture Project. I geeked out with Stuart at Gnomedex 5.0. I love this quote from his blog:
Here’s my big observation so far: In any other room, I’m the √?ber-geek. Here, I’m just a guy. Three guys next to me at the reception last night pulled out their Treo 650s and I was almost embarrassed to admit that I only had the 600. This is the only room where I really get tech envy.
Another observation: Since leaving the theatre, this is the first community in which I’ve felt completely comfortable. I love computers, and everyone around me loves computers. I love gadgets, everyone around me loves gadgets.
Another (okay, now I’m on a roll): The number of Macs here is amazing. Probably half the folks in the Bay Auditorium have little white glowing apple logos in front of them.
I’m truly home.
I know what you mean, Stuart.
If you are thinking of relocating to Seattle please check out his Seattle Real Estate Talk site. If you are thinking of relocating to Phoenix contact me and let us chat. Thanks for the cup Stuart.

I thought that I had been paying close attention to things but I hadn’t put it all together. Are you guys really moving to Phoenix? If so, I can give you lots of tips and contacts — prior to living here, we lived there for 5 years. My old band that does the theme song for TNT is still there as are Tiffany’s dad and grandparents.
I hope that all is well and the pee is still clear!
