Guest Cup 43 - deCadmus!

deCadmus writes:

The cup:

Hand-thrown by Ayers Pottery in Hannibal, Missouri.

The coffee:

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters’ Finca Dos Marias Estate coffee, grown in the cloud forest of San Marcos, Guatemala. Not a high-strung, nervous Guatemalan (like you’d find in Antigua or Huehuetenango) but instead a round, very mellow profile. Its flavor offers hints of dark cherry, vanilla and root beer. Remarkable creamy body. Sweet finish. Plays well with others… ’specially vanilla bean ice cream.

I had the great fortune to visit the estate in January… a magical place. The farm-owning family is extremely progressive… putting the farm-workers first with a fabulous school, medical clinic, land grants and housing. They’ve set aside 700 acres as a bird sanctuary for the Quetzal, Guatemala’s nearly mythical (and nearly extinct) national symbol.

Good people. Good coffee.

That was an exciting race.

466

You cannot imagine how fast they are going when you see it live. Unless you pick up the cars coming off the turn, they are a blur when they pass. 466.

Interlude 24 - Bourbon Street

The Bourbon Street video.

We shot this video on our last night in NOLA. We begin on Canal Street and walk a block to Bourbon Street. The trip down Bourbon Street was a visual and aural spectacle. You had to be there.

The video is shaky, but it captured the sounds of the street (and - just for Tim and Tony - a girls gone wild moment). About 13 minutes. 26.6 MB (Quicktime)
