Coffee Cup 103
I have a love/hate relationship with Starbucks. I love the comfy chair experience and hate that there is no Peet’s in my neighborhood.
Here is my latest Starbucks drama.
For her Christmas stocking, I wanted to get Presh a Starbucks card. I went to the website sometime in late October to order her the penguin card filled with a few cuppas. Weeks go by. Then months. WTF?!? No card.
I check the website and the order verification email. They received the order, but never sent it and never sent an explanation. Bastards. Presh gets a keychain stuffer instead. No penguins. I send a very disappointed email to Starbucks, requesting a refund for my order. Turns out I was never billed cause it never shipped. Whatever.
Weeks go by and a letter appears from Gil at Starbucks. They are sorry for the blah blah blah. They value
So I look at the coupons and they are not valid here. WTF?!? Gil, as an apology for their fuck-up, sent me coupons I cannot use. I staple the coupons to his nice form letter. I circle the restrictions language. Draw a line to my address and write. “Uh thanks, but what am I supposed to do with these?” and mail it back to him.
103. Another letter came today. Not a form letter this time, but with some obvious cutting and pasting. Gil apologizes again, and asssures me that I am valued. Regrets (snip/paste) did not know the coupons were not accepted here and as an apology has asked that I be sent… a Starbucks card.
Hah! We shall see….

Coffee Cups 101 and 102
I love cornbread warm just out of the oven with real Irish butter (salted). I must admit that the attraction is the warm melted butter part and the texture of the cornbread. While I am a total coffee snob, I use those 59 cent boxes of cornbread mix.
A third of a cup of milk, and egg, and the mix. Bake at 400 degrees till done. 101.
I make my own waffles from scratch, not a mix. 102.

Coffee Cup 100
This turned out to be a very interesting day. My opus was greenlighted. There is a plan and money and now support. I got to make an offer one can not refuse. Rube Goldberg conspired to find us the perfect new place.
A new home and a new adventure.
We celebrate with, wait for it, number 100. My life is really interesting. Today was a very good day.

Coffee Cup 99
By the end of the day everything will change.
It is only at the end of the day that the changes reveal. 99.

97 and 98
The day starts like any other. Peet’s and day old corn bread.
It is still dark but that will soon change. 97.
A scan of the headlines. Check the morning emails. The day seems like the others. 98.
